Originally named Porkado, this camp has been used as a commissary since 1974. It changed names to Phillips Junction in 1975 and is commonly referred to as PJ. For many years, burros were used to haul food from PJ to Apache Springs, Clear Creek and Fish Camp. In 1989, an experiment using llamas to make food runs was conducted, but was switched back to burros the following year.
