Named after Guadalupe Miranda. He and Carlos Beaubien petitioned the Governor of Mexico for the original land grant in 1841. Beaubien recruited Miranda to obtain the land grant because he was a friend of Mexican Governor Manuel Armijo. Located in the 10,098-acre Baldy Territory that was purchased by Norton Clapp and donated to Philmont in 1963.
